Broad sense wire and cable is also referred to as cable. Cable in a narrow sense refers to insulated cable. It may be defined as an assembly consisting of the following parts, one or more insulating cores, and each of them may have a covering layer, a total protective layer and an outer protective layer. The cable may also have an additional conductor without insulation.
China's wire and cable products are divided into the following five categories according to their uses:
1. Bare wires;
2. Winding wire;
3. Power cable;
4. Communication cables and communication cables;
(5) Electric wires and cables for electrical equipment.
Basic structure of wire and cable:
1. Conductor: objects that conduct current. Specifications of wires and cables are all represented by the cross-section of the conductor.

2. Insulation: the outer insulation material shall withstand the voltage.
